ABOUT US

 

The Illawarra Youth Arts Project (iYAP) is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven, youth and community organisation based in the Illawarra Region of NSW, Australia. We are dedicated to providing a caring and supportive environment for all young people, that encourages participation in all areas of the creative arts. We facilitate many projects each year, spanning all the different facets that come under the term 'creative arts', IYAP puts on a diverse range of projects catered to the youth of the Illawarra. From theatrical productions to art exhibitions, and workshops to band competitions, IYAP aims to provide a broad of oppurtunities to all!

 

MISSION STATEMENT AND AIMS

• To provide the youth of the Illawarra with access to all facets of the Creative Arts.

• To encourage, support, and promote Youth Cultural Development in the Illawarra area.

• To foster and encourage all levels of talent and ability in a safe, nurturing and educational environment.

• To access and create platforms to assist youth in reaching their goals.

• To encourage, support and promote growth of the creative arts throughout the Illawarra area, through collaboration and communication.



WE WILL DO THIS BY:

• Facilitating programs, projects and events within the Illawarra area, that canvas all levels of the creative arts.

• Building a culture based on respect, trust, integrity and a view to the future.

• Providing access to education and training opportunities within the creative arts.

• Instigating collaboration between existing facilities and entities to support and encourage growth and sharing of resources.

 

COMMITTEE

 

The IYAP committee is elected every year (July) and meets on the fourth Sunday of every month. We are lucky to have a broad range of capabilities, ages and experiences amongst our team, enabling IYAP to give the youth of the Illawarra the very best.
